Abstract

This study examines changes in online shopping behavior between 2021 and 2025 and its implications for financial management and mental health. Using a descriptive qualitative method supported by thematic analysis, this research synthesizes findings from digital consumer studies, financial psychology, and mental health reports. The results show a significant rise in impulsive buying, increased use of paylater services, and shifts toward emotionally driven consumption. These behavioral changes have contributed to weakened financial discipline, increased personal debt, heightened anxiety, and reduced emotional stability. The study concludes that online shopping patterns in the digital era are shaped not only by technological convenience but also by psychological and socioeconomic factors. Strengthening digital financial literacy and implementing ethical e-commerce practices are essential to minimize negative financial and psychological impacts.
